A Decade of Action: 10 Years of Social Contribution in the City Streets

From the very first day the Ithaca van hit the streets, we knew that we wouldn’t be making this journey alone. The effort to provide clean clothes, hygiene, and dignity to people in need was never the work of just one person.

It was, and remains, the result of a collective effort by people who decided to dedicate their time, energy, and heart to a common cause. Today, 10 years later, we look back with gratitude.

The Power of the Team: The People Behind the Van

Over this decade, hundreds of people have become part of our team, each leaving their unique mark. Social contribution for Ithaca doesn’t have just one face, but many different ones:

• Frontline volunteers: The people who staff the Mobile Unit daily, in all weather conditions, offering their time and energy in the field. Alongside them, photographers who respectfully capture moments, and hairdressers who offer care and smiles, volunteering their talent and services.

All these people, from every possible role and position, were united by a common, deep desire: to make a difference and offer something truly meaningful to society.

Without Them, We Would Have Achieved Far Less

The truth is simple, and we know it well. Without the dedication of our volunteers and staff, Ithaca would not have achieved even half of what it has accomplished this decade. Every clean garment delivered, every conversation held, every opportunity for reintegration created, bears their signature.

Social contribution is not measured only by numbers or tons of clothes washed, but by the human relationships and trust we have built over the years.

That’s why today, we simply want to say a big thank you from the bottom of our hearts to each and every one of you. For 10 years of continuous, selfless, and meaningful presence. You are the soul and driving force of this effort.

The first 10 years were just the beginning. Our effort continues daily, because the needs around us never stop. As long as there are people lacking the basics, the Ithaca van will be there, reminding everyone that solidarity can change the world.
